REPXPERT double clutch training heads to Devon

Schaeffler has announced its upcoming REPXPERT 2CT training course is scheduled to take place on 16th-17th July, at the South Devon College Skills Academy in Devon, England.

The two-day course combines theory with hands-on practice to equip technicians with the confidence and repair solutions needed to efficiently undertake VW double clutch system repairs.

“This is a job that too many independent garages have been turning away for fear of getting it wrong,” said Alistair Mason, technical services manager at Schaeffler REPXPERT.

“Our REPXPERT 2CT training course gives technicians the knowledge needed to confidently tackle these repairs, ensuring that no garage has to turn away this highly profitable work.”

Double clutch transmissions consist of two clutches, arranged on two drive shafts in a gearbox housing. Each sub-transmission functions like a manual transmission, with its own clutch. While driving, all gear changes are automatically controlled, with one of the two clutches operating the odd-numbered gears, while the other controls the even-numbers and reverse.

Day one of the IMI-approved course puts the focus on Volkswagen dry clutch systems before moving onto VW’s wet clutch systems on day two. Training covers clutch and mechatronics removal, gearbox disassembly, repairs solutions and reassembly, mechatronic repairs and common issues, before concluding with clutch operation, installation and setup.

Spaces for the REPXPERT 2CT training course are limited. Interested technicians are encouraged to register early to secure a place for just £349 + VAT. For more information and registration details, click here.
