UFI Filters has been awarded the contract for production of the dual heat exchanger on the front and rear electric axle on Maserati’s new electric vehicles.
Its thermal management systems will be OE in the Italian car maker’s Folgore range of EVs, which includes the MC20, Gran Turismo and Gran Cabrio.
UFI says this announcement is an important step forwards for its in the development of technologies for electric mobility.
The filtration brand is already the supplier of UFI Multitube engine air filter for the new MC20 petrol car unveiled in September.
Maserati Folgore is the legendary name that will unite the full electric range set to be launched in 2021 by the all-Italian brand, famous worldwide for its supersport and luxury cars.
For electric cars, the thermal management of the electric propulsion system (battery pack) – as well as the transmission oil – is crucial. UFI Filters has been providing technologically advanced solutions since 2010, produced using the latest generation systems.
UFI Filters thermal management systems have already been selected for use in the electric mobility solutions produced by a range of other manufacturers in addition to Maserati, including Audi and Porsche for their Premium Platform Electric (PPE) and for heavy-duty vehicle manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz Trucks.
