GS Yuasa launches free online Covid-19 and Batteries training course

GS Yuasa has launched what it describes as a coronavirus-specific training course covering Covid-19 and batteries. The free course aims to help distributors, workshops and garages combat the rise of battery failure occurring because of reduced usage due to lockdowns.

The course, which has been compiled as part of the battery manufacturer’s award-winning training platform GS Yuasa Academy, consists of four short modules which it says takes less than 10 minutes to complete. In that time, users will learn what causes a vehicle battery to fail, how to assess a potential warranty claim and the importance of battery care. As well as providing timely, Covid-specific advice, the course also acts as a taster for those not familiar with the battery manufacturer’s training platform.

The GS Yuasa Academy features over 20 dynamic courses, all of which provide a wealth of knowledge and technical expertise bringing a wide range of benefits. These include additional battery sales opportunities, faster fitting and a reduction in returns. Launched in 2019, the battery training platform has recently become the first to receive both Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) and CPD accreditation. Users who successfully complete all GS Yuasa Academy courses are eligible to apply for full IMI certification and membership through the platform.

All GS Yuasa Academy course certificates carry the CPD logo and count towards professional development CPD points. These can prove to employers and professional bodies that users have kept their skills and knowledge up to date with industry standards.
